Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin, Ph. D., is a graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (Cachan, France) in Management Science (specializing in risk management and insurance), Associate Professor at the Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal and Vice-President at CIRANO, where she is run Risks and Sustainable Development groups. She is President of the network RISQ + H for the quality and safety of care in Quebec.
In September 2014, she was appointed to the Steering Committee of the Government plan on hydrocarbons led by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and the Fight against climate change.
Madam de Marcellis-Warin has published numerous scientific articles and more than 20 research reports for government agencies and other organizations. She publishes annually with colleague Ingrid Peignier, CIRANO, the Barometer « La perseption des risques au Québec » (Risk Perception in Quebec) to better understand this concern and she co-edited a book on the management of risks associated with hazardous materials in Quebec.
She is currently involved in research projects on risk perception and social acceptability, risk and crisis communication in the context of social media and management of reputational risk. She has given over a hundred conferences and is regularly invited to speak to the media.
