President and Chief Executive Officer, Fédération des cégeps
Bernard Tremblay has held various positions within the Fédération des commissions scolaires du Québec, including Director of Labour Relations, Secretary General and Director of Legal Affairs. He was also President of the Comité patronal de négociation pour les commissions scolaires francophones (CPNCF), the organization responsible for national negotiations for the 200,000 employees working in the 2,600 schools and centres in Quebec that make up the 60 French-language school boards. He was negotiator and employer spokesperson in negotiations at the national level from 1991 to 2015.
A member of the Quebec Bar since 1990, Mr. Tremblay holds an Honours Bachelor of Law degree from Université Laval and a Master’s degree in public law, focusing mainly on human rights and freedoms in the educational context. He has also completed a Master’s degree in Public Administration at the École nationale d’administration publique.
Mr. Tremblay has been President and Chief Executive Officer of the Fédération de cégeps since March 2015.
