Mathieu Boudreault

Mathieu Boudreault is professor and researcher in the Department of Mathematics at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). His interests include modeling and disaster risk management, including hurricanes and floods. Mathieu actively collaborates with Ouranos and the insurance and reinsurance industry on these issues. Member-researcher of the future Intersectoral Réseau inondations intersectoriel du Québec (RIISQ), he works to set up a research chair on flood insurance and the sharing of financial risks in the face of climate change. In particular, he was invited to give a lecture as part of the “Journée d’échange sur l’inondation au Québec” organized by the Insurance Bureau of Canada.

Also a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and Associate of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, Mathieu Boudreault is currently Director of Undergraduate Programs in Actuarial Sciences at UQAM. He was director of Quantact, the Quebec research laboratory in actuarial and financial mathematics, and is still an active member of this laboratory. Mathieu Boudreault has also been involved as a volunteer with the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, the national organization of the actuarial profession in Canada. He has chaired various commissions and subcommittees related to research and education and has been a member of the eligibility and education branch.
