Pierre-Olivier Pineau is Full Professor at the Department of Decision Sciences at HEC Montréal and holder of the Chair in Energy Sector Management. He is interested in electricity and energy policies, with a special focus on investment models, institutional reforms and market integration. He believes that the right policies can lead to market efficient outcomes, social equity and environmental sustainability (he also believes we are not there yet). He also has research interests in productivity, free trade, fair trade and their link to poverty.
