Beatrice is a lawyer with an atypical background. Indeed, after practicing law in Borden Ladner Gervais’ financial services group, Béatrice made the leap to the management side by joining BIXI. As a member of the business development team, she managed the implementation of all of the company’s Canadian projects, including BIXI Toronto and Ottawa, and participated in the sale of the bike share system in several American and European cities. These few years at BIXI allowed her to become familiar with the marketing of products to municipalities and to acquire knowledge of active transportation as well as solid experience in project management. Béatrice was attracted by the variety of challenges that a small business brings and that is why she agreed to join the ranks of Jomedia, a young Montreal company specializing in the distribution of online digital content. Driven by the desire to contribute, in her own way, to Montréal’s economic growth and to the influence of the creativity and know-how of its entrepreneurs, she agreed to embark on the adventure of creating InnoCité MTL, the first smart city startup accelerator in Canada.
