Assistant Chief Executive Officer, Sainte-Justine UHC

On September 8, 2015, following the merger of the CHUM and CHU Sainte-Justine, Ms. Demers was appointed to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer at CHU Sainte-Justine.

Ms. Demers holds a master’s degree in health administration from the Université de Montréal’s Département d’administration de la santé as well as basic university training in medical biology.

She began her management career as a project coordinator in the Nursing Care Directorate at CHU Sainte-Justine. After a few years managing various types of projects (clinical, technological, work reorganization, etc.), she set up the Project Office at CHU Sainte-Justine in 2008 and was the first manager of this body. She then held the position of Assistant Chief of Staff to the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Université de Montréal. She was also a lecturer in the Department of Health Administration at the Université de Montréal for five years and was a lecturer for nine years at the DESS in health services management in Haiti.

After four years as Assistant to the Executive Director, her mandate was broadened two years ago as Director of the Office of the Executive Director by regrouping the corporate, strategic and decision support functions in a concern for constant improvement of organizational performance. She has solid local and international experience in project management, organizational planning, performance management and strategic development.
