Director of Budget Planning and Education Policy, Ministry of Finance

Mr. Jean-Pascal Lessard is Director of Budget Planning and Education Policy at the Ministry of Finance. He is responsible for establishing the financial framework included in Québec’s Economic Plan and advises the government in establishing budgetary orientations affecting the education sector. Having taken part in the integration and training program for economists at the Ministère des Finances, Jean-Pascal Lessard has held various positions that have led him to work on various mandates, such as personal and corporate taxation and economic forecasts.

Prior to joining the Department of Finance, Mr. Jean-Pascal Lessard completed his university studies at Université Laval, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Economics in 2007 and a Master’s degree in the same field in 2009. Mr. Lessard distinguished himself in his studies with an honourable mention from the university at the bachelor’s level and a scholarship of excellence from the Interuniversity Centre on Risk, Economic Policy and Employment at the master’s level.
